F Street Historic Westside Gateway

Project Description:

F Street Historic Westside Gateway & Beautification Project

KME Architects participated in the design and enhancement of the F Street Historic Westside Gateway, a community-focused placemaking project that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Las Vegas’ Historic Westside while strengthening its connection to downtown Las Vegas.

Serving as a prominent gateway into one of Southern Nevada’s most historically significant neighborhoods, the project transformed the F Street underpass corridor into a vibrant public space through the integration of large-scale interpretive murals, architectural enhancements, decorative signage, and streetscape improvements. The mural installations highlight influential community leaders, historic landmarks, neighborhood traditions, and significant moments that helped shape the Historic Westside’s identity and legacy.

The design team worked closely with community stakeholders to create an environment that reflects the character and history of the neighborhood while providing a welcoming and visually engaging experience for residents and visitors alike. The project incorporates durable materials, enhanced pedestrian experiences, improved lighting, and artistic elements that contribute to the ongoing revitalization of the Historic Westside.

Today, the F Street Gateway serves as both a functional transportation corridor and a public landmark that honors the neighborhood’s past, celebrates its cultural contributions, and reinforces community pride for future generations.
