McDonald’s

Over the next five years, McDonald’s plans to spend an estimated five billion dollars to remodel thousands of U.S. restaurants with new features such as plasma TVs, lounge chairs and eletric fireplaces. McDonald’s will also add free Wi-fi and new facades to the stores, and make other improvements like widening drive-ins to two lanes. The McDonald’s exterior renovation is a part of the company’s rebranding effort. The renovation effort will target all the existing McDonald’s buildings with the overall goal of updating the overall look of all the McDonald’s buildings. The renovation starts with a site and ADA evaluation. KME Architects begin with examining the existing property and determining whether a remodel is feasible or if the existing building should be demolished, to be replaced with a new facility. If a remodel is to take place, KME Architects performs an ADA evaluation to determine what elements are no longer in compliance with ADA requirements, all of which are corrected within the renovation project. The cost of each project is estimated between $120,000 – $200,00.
